Ingredients

- 1 cup dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon fresh orange zest
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch salt
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (for coating)
- Optional: powdered sugar or chopped nuts for coating
Instructions
- Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
- Stir in the orange zest and let it steep for 2–3 minutes.
- Place the chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
- Pour the warm cream over the chocolate and let sit for 2–3 minutes.
- Stir gently until smooth and glossy.
- Add butter, vanilla, and salt. Stir until fully combined.
- Chill the mixture in the fridge for 1–2 hours until firm.
- Scoop into small balls and roll between your palms.
- Coat in cocoa powder, powdered sugar, or chopped nuts.
- Chill for 30 more minutes or serve immediately.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, consider using chocolate with a higher cocoa content.
- These truffles can be served immediately, but chilling enhances their texture.
