Description

Delicious homemade dinner rolls that are soft and fluffy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. Warm 1 cup milk to lukewarm then mix with 3 tbsp sugar and 2 1/4 tsp yeast and let stand 5 minutes until foamy (tip: do not overheat milk).
  2. Add 1 egg, 4 tbsp melted butter, 2 tbsp oil, and 1 tsp salt then stir until combined.
  3. Gradually add 4 cups flour mixing until a soft dough forms (tip: stop when dough is slightly tacky).
  4. Knead dough for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
  6. Divide dough into 12 equal pieces, shape into balls, and place in a baking dish.
  7. Let rolls rise 30 minutes, then bake at 375°F for 20 to 25 minutes until golden and brush with butter.

Notes

  • Ensure the milk is not too hot to avoid killing the yeast.
  • These rolls are best served warm.
