Ingredients

- 4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- 4 tbsp melted butter
- 2 tbsp oil
Instructions
- Warm 1 cup milk to lukewarm then mix with 3 tbsp sugar and 2 1/4 tsp yeast and let stand 5 minutes until foamy (tip: do not overheat milk).
- Add 1 egg, 4 tbsp melted butter, 2 tbsp oil, and 1 tsp salt then stir until combined.
- Gradually add 4 cups flour mixing until a soft dough forms (tip: stop when dough is slightly tacky).
- Knead dough for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
- Divide dough into 12 equal pieces, shape into balls, and place in a baking dish.
- Let rolls rise 30 minutes, then bake at 375°F for 20 to 25 minutes until golden and brush with butter.
Notes
- Ensure the milk is not too hot to avoid killing the yeast.
- These rolls are best served warm.
