Description
Delicious chocolate-covered date balls made with nut butter and dark chocolate, perfect for a sweet treat!
Ingredients
Scale
- 18 oz Medjool dates (pitted, approx. 500g)
- ½ cup smooth nut butter (almond, peanut, or cashew; approx. 135g)
- 1 cup dark chocolate (melted, approx. 180g)
- to taste Flaky sea salt (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Add the pitted dates and nut butter to a food processor. Blend for 2–3 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed, until a thick, sticky dough forms that holds together when pressed.
- If the mixture is too firm for your food processor, add 1–2 teaspoons warm water or a little extra nut butter to help it blend.
- Scoop the mixture into about 20 portions (roughly 1 tablespoon each) and roll into balls. Place on a parchment-lined tray and freeze for 10 minutes to firm up.
- Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave or over a double boiler until smooth.
- Dip each chilled ball into the melted chocolate, letting any excess drip off, then return to the lined tray.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt while the chocolate is still wet, if using.
- Return to the freezer for another 15–20 minutes, or until the chocolate is fully set.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- Variation: Try adding chopped nuts for added texture!
