Description

This homemade bread is soft and flavorful, perfect for sandwiches or toast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F or 43°C)
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup raisins (soaked in warm water)
  • 1 tsp fine sea salt
  • 1/4 cup butter (softened)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm water and active dry yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for about five minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  3. Add the activated yeast mixture and softened butter to the dry ingredients. Stir until combined; dough will be sticky.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Gently fold in soaked raisins, then place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Shape the risen dough into a loaf and place it in a greased bread pan.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and hollow when tapped.
