Description
Delicious and moist chocolate chip banana bars made with ripe bananas.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed (Look for bananas with brown spots for best flavor.)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips (Can substitute with nuts or other add-ins.)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until well incorporated, then add the egg and whisk until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined. Be careful not to overmix!
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Transfer the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bars to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and enjoy!
