Scale
- 12 oz ziti pasta

- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain off excess fat.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning, and let simmer for about 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked ziti, ricotta cheese, and meat mixture. Toss gently to coat.
- Spread half of the ziti mixture into a baking dish. Top with half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Add the remaining ziti mixture, and sprinkle with the rest of the cheese.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef or turkey with mushrooms or a meat alternative.
- Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
