- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners.
- In a small bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the streusel topping.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the streusel evenly over the cupcake batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the frosting, beat the softened butter until creamy.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until smooth.
- Stir in vanilla extract and cream, beating until light and fluffy.
- Pipe or spread the frosting over the cooled cupcakes.

- Don’t overmix the batter to avoid dense cupcakes.
