Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Vanilla Cake Truffle Balls, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box vanilla cake mix
  • 1 cup vanilla frosting
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Sprinkles (optional, for decoration)
  • Granulated sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Bake the Cake: Prepare the vanilla cake mix according to the package instructions and bake in a 9×13-inch pan. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  2. Create the Cake Mix: Crumble the cooled cake into a large mixing bowl. Add 1 cup of vanilla frosting to the crumbled cake. Mix until well-combined and the mixture can be easily shaped into balls.
  3. Form the Balls: Roll the cake mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Chill the Balls: Place the cake balls in the refrigerator for about 1 hour, or until firm.
  5. Coat with Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1 cup of white chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Dip each chilled cake ball into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it’s fully covered. Allow any excess to drip off.
  6. Decorate: Immediately after coating with chocolate, roll the truffles in granulated sugar for a glittery effect. Optionally, add sprinkles on top for extra color and decoration. Allow the chocolate to set completely before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure the cake is completely cool before mixing with frosting to prevent a soggy texture.
  • If the mixture is too sticky when forming balls, refrigerate it for an additional 15 minutes.
  • To prevent the chocolate from cracking, let the coated truffles come to room temperature gradually or store them in an airtight container in the fridge after they’ve set.
  • Experiment with different sprinkle colors or drizzle patterns for various occasions.
