Description

A delicious and quick recipe combining sautéed shrimp and smoked sausage with fresh broccoli.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 ounces smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep the Ingredients: Peel and devein the shrimp if not already prepared. Slice the smoked sausage into rounds. Cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets.
  2. Marinate the Shrimp: In a bowl, combine shrimp with paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside to marinate for 10 minutes.
  3. Cook the Sausage: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Sauté the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  5. Cook the Broccoli: In the same skillet, add a little water if needed. Add broccoli and sauté until tender-crisp, about 4-5 minutes.
  6. Combine Ingredients: Return the sausage and shrimp to the skillet with the broccoli. Add lemon juice, soy sauce, and butter. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving. Serve hot, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Adjust the seasoning to your taste; more paprika can be added for extra heat.
  • You can substitute smoked sausage with chorizo for a spicier option.
  • For added flavor, toast the garlic until golden before adding the shrimp.
  • Serve with rice or pasta for a more filling meal.
