Description
Delicious garlic knots perfect for sharing or as a side dish.
Ingredients

- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
- 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
- 2 1/2 to 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese (optional)
- Pinch of salt
- Warm marinara sauce for dipping (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl or stand mixer, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until frothy.
- Add olive oil, salt, and 2 1/2 cups flour. Mix until dough forms, adding more flour as needed.
- Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Transfer to an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Punch down dough and divide into 12 pieces. Roll each into an 8-inch rope and tie into a knot.
- Place knots on lined baking sheet. Cover and let rise for 20–30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Bake knots 12–15 minutes until golden.
- Melt butter and stir in garlic, parsley, salt, and parmesan.
- Brush warm knots with garlic butter immediately after baking.
- Serve with warm marinara, if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, try adding Italian herbs to the dough.
- These can be made ahead and reheated in the oven.
