Description

A delicious pull-apart bread seasoned with herbs and garlic, perfect for sharing and serving with dipping sauces.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast:

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Mix gently and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. Prepare the Dough:

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix to form a dough. Knead for about 8-10 minutes until elastic and smooth. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  3. Prepare the Herb Mixture:

In a medium bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, rosemary, thyme, parsley, sea salt, and black pepper.

  4. Shape and Season the Bread:

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the risen dough and divide it into small balls (about 1½ inches each). Dip each dough ball into the herb-butter mixture and place them in a bundt pan, layering as you go.

  5. Bake:

Cover the bundt pan with a towel and let it rise again for 15-20 minutes. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and fully cooked through.

  6. Serve:

Let the bread cool slightly before turning it out onto a serving plate. Serve warm with a dipping sauce like marinara or a fresh tomato-basil dip.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, sprinkle some Parmesan cheese over the layers before baking.
  • Substitute herbs as desired, using basil or oregano for a different flavor.
  • Ensure all dough balls are coated thoroughly for even seasoning.
  • If the top browns too quickly, cover with foil halfway through baking.
