Description

A delicious and hearty breakfast option featuring pizza dough topped with eggs, cheese, and savory meats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • ½ cup cooked sausage (crumbled)
  • ½ cup cooked bacon (chopped)
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • optional fresh herbs (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out the pizza dough into four individual-sized rounds on a floured surface. Place the dough rounds on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  2. Add the Cheese: Brush each dough round with a little olive oil. Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese evenly over each round.

  3. Add the Toppings: Evenly distribute the crumbled sausage and chopped bacon over the mozzarella. Make a small well in the center of each pizza for the egg.

  4. Add the Eggs: Carefully crack an egg into the center of each pizza, ensuring it stays in the well. Sprinkle cheddar cheese around the egg but avoid covering the yolk.

  5. Season: Add a sprinkle of salt and pepper over each pizza.

  6. Bake: Place the pizzas in the preheated oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the egg whites are set.

  7. Garnish: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a dash of hot sauce or a sprinkle of chili flakes before baking.
  • Use a pizza stone for a crispier crust if available.
  • Customize by adding other toppings such as bell peppers, onions, or mushrooms.
  • Keep an eye on the pizzas to ensure the egg yolks remain slightly runny for the best texture.
