Description
Soft and fluffy garlic butter dinner rolls that are perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk (warm)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
- Sea salt for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, mix warm milk, melted butter, and sugar. Add the instant yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy. Add the egg, salt, and flour gradually, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
- Shape the Rolls: Punch down the dough and divide it into 16 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a smooth ball and place them in a greased baking pan. Cover and let them rise again for 30-45 minutes.
- Prepare Garlic Butter: In a small saucepan, melt the softened butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in the chopped parsley and remove from heat.
- Bake the Rolls: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the rolls with half of the garlic butter mixture. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the tops are golden brown. Once baked, brush the rolls with the remaining garlic butter and sprinkle with sea salt.
Notes
- For richer flavor, use whole milk.
- Ensure the milk is warm (not hot) to activate the yeast properly.
- You can substitute parsley with other herbs like rosemary or thyme for different flavors.
- Serve the rolls warm for the best texture and taste. Reheat them briefly if needed before serving.
