Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, using a mixer, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Gently fold in the semisweet chocolate chips and nuts if using. Ensure even distribution throughout the dough.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each scoop for spreading.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are just set.
- Remove from the oven and allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
- Indulge in the warm, crispy, and chewy cookies right away!
