Description
A delicious creamy chicken and mushroom dish served over egg noodles.

- 1 lb chicken breast or thighs
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional)
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
- 8 oz egg noodles (or your preferred side)
Instructions
- Slice chicken into bite-sized pieces, chop onions, and slice mushrooms. Prepare all ingredients before cooking.
- In a large skillet, melt 1 tbsp butter over medium-high heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Sear chicken until golden and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining 1 tbsp butter. Add mushrooms and onions. Sauté until softened and golden. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir to coat. Cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in chicken broth, scraping up any brown bits from the pan. Simmer until slightly thickened.
- Reduce heat to low. Stir in sour cream, Dijon mustard, and heavy cream if using. Stir until smooth and creamy.
- Return chicken to the skillet. Simmer for 5–7 minutes, letting the flavors meld.
- Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve hot over noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes. Garnish with parsley.
