Description

Delicious and easy cottage cheese bagels perfect for any time of the day!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup cottage cheese (low fat or full fat)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for topping)
  • Cooking spray or oil, for baking

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lightly oil or spray the parchment.
  2. In a mixing bowl, blend the cottage cheese until mostly smooth. Add the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Mix until it forms a shaggy dough.
  3. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for 2-3 minutes until the dough comes together and is soft.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll each into a log and shape into a bagel, pinching the ends to seal.
  5. Beat the egg and brush over the bagels. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  6. Bake for 22-25 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.
