Description
A delicious dessert made with saltine crackers, chocolate chips, and toffee.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sleeve saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup toppings of choice (sprinkles, chopped pecans, festive M&M’s, etc.)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a large baking sheet with foil, then lightly coat with non-stick spray.
- Arrange the saltines in a single layer, covering the entire pan.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Bring to a rolling boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 3 minutes, stirring often.
- Quickly pour the toffee mixture over the crackers, spreading evenly to coat. Bake for 5 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit for 1–2 minutes, then spread evenly once softened.
- Sprinkle with your favorite toppings while the chocolate is still warm.
- Refrigerate for about 2 hours, or until firm. Peel off the foil and break into pieces before serving.
Notes
- This recipe can be easily customized with different toppings.
- For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar.
