Description

A delicious dessert made with saltine crackers, chocolate chips, and toffee.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sleeve saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup toppings of choice (sprinkles, chopped pecans, festive M&M’s, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a large baking sheet with foil, then lightly coat with non-stick spray.
  2. Arrange the saltines in a single layer, covering the entire pan.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Bring to a rolling boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 3 minutes, stirring often.
  4. Quickly pour the toffee mixture over the crackers, spreading evenly to coat. Bake for 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit for 1–2 minutes, then spread evenly once softened.
  6. Sprinkle with your favorite toppings while the chocolate is still warm.
  7. Refrigerate for about 2 hours, or until firm. Peel off the foil and break into pieces before serving.

Notes

  • This recipe can be easily customized with different toppings.
  • For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar.
