Description
Delicious and tender cube steaks cooked in a rich gravy, perfect for serving over mashed potatoes or rice.

- 4 cube steaks
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 packet brown gravy mix (about 1 ounce)
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Season both sides of the cube steaks with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Lightly dredge each steak in flour to coat.
- Layer sliced onions on the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Place floured cube steaks on top of the onions, layering if necessary.
- In a bowl, whisk together beef broth, brown gravy mix, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
- Pour the gravy mixture over the steaks and onions.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the meat is fork-tender.
- Stir in the butter at the end for extra richness.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles with plenty of gravy.
Notes
- This dish can easily be prepared in advance and reheated for serving.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
