Description

A delicious brunch dish featuring day-old croissants, fresh berries, and a creamy custard.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large croissants, day-old
  • 2 cups mixed fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Slice the croissants into 1-inch pieces and arrange half in the prepared baking dish. Scatter half of the mixed berries over the croissant pieces. Repeat with remaining croissant pieces and berries.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the croissants and berries. Press gently to ensure all pieces are soaked.
  5. Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes until golden and the custard is set. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
