- 4 large croissants, day-old
- 2 cups mixed fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- Slice the croissants into 1-inch pieces and arrange half in the prepared baking dish. Scatter half of the mixed berries over the croissant pieces. Repeat with remaining croissant pieces and berries.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the custard mixture evenly over the croissants and berries. Press gently to ensure all pieces are soaked.
- Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes until golden and the custard is set. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
- This dish can be prepared the night before and baked in the morning for a quick breakfast.
